I have a 68 SR that has the typical black face phase inverter mods. In this
form the amp is presumably sonically very similar to a black face, and is
not
particularly good for harp. It is a bit too clean, though loud. Rick
Estrin
uses one, but I suspect his has been tweaked for harp. A power soak-type
attenuator would probably help the harp tone. Paul Messinger (where is
Paul?)
used a SR with soak. I much prefer my Bassman RI. I think that 1.2K
would be
better spent on other amps.
