Hello all,

Worm here:
Just wanted to thank those of you who responded to my previous
inquiries regarding amps.

Here is my status/findings:

Played:
Fender Blues Jr. New at guitar Center ( $375 )
Loved it, and wish it cost less! Played through a Sure SM58
(did not like the mic)

AMPEG S-J12-T Used at Guitar Center ( $379 )
WOW, loved this too! This is a steal, If my wife would not
kill me I would have got this
( using Sure SM58 )

Mongomery Wards Tube amp! ( local hole in the wall )
This one I played on Guitar only, there were no mics in
the store
100$ asked if they would take 60$ no reply yet
Bright cruchy sound that was full of funk and tone.
I may get this amp just because its from Montgomery Wards
and the shound was great. What a diamond in the rough..
real rough!!
( I think it was like 1-5 Watts )

Fender Pro Jr. ( $275 ) used Tweed. local used shop
Nice sound, but I like the fat switch on the Blues Jr. as
well as the reverb
This price was too high for used equipment.
Played through green Bullet and Blues blaster. Like both
mics very much.

Pignose 40 watt tube amp ( $199 )
hmm tough call. First impression was negative, but its
just different sounding.
I guess its value you get here not really quality.

Still have not played on the VOX cambridge series.. I
would like too.
has anyone used this amp? The new line with the 12Ax7 Tube
pre-amp?
Really interested in opinions here?

Then Today!!!

In the local paper I found a Crate VC508 almost new for $100 going
to play it today

And!

A Fender Blues Jr. for $200, called the guy but no response. Hope
its still available!

Also I ordered a Blues Blaster through musiciansfriends for 59$. Its a web
special.

Moral of the story, Don't get too anxious to buy something. I had so much
fun going to different shops and playing different equipment. I learned a
lot, and in the end my patience has payed off. I hope to get the Blues Jr.
for 200$ if that falls through I have the Crate VC508 for 100$ and if all
else fails I will have the Montgomery Wards Speceial for 60-100$. I am so
Excited!!! Be patient, and have fun. That's what life is all about anyway.

Thanks again for those of you who helped educate me on amps and mics, I
learned a great deal.
