the pairs of notes g and
b --> a and c ---> a#
and c# ---> b and d
is a good lead-in [ or first line] of Wildwood Flower, Put On Your
Old Grey Bonnet, Fraulein. It goes good on banjo or guitar
[ 3-0and 2-0 > 3-2 and 2-1
> 3-3 and 2-2 > 3-4 and 2-3 ] and
on piano. I don't think I know how to play this on the diatonic harp.
Notice that g and b is a major third interval and the other three pairs
are minor thirds - also this sequence starts with the 1 and 3
notes of the major G chord and ends on the 3 and 5 notes of the major G
chord [ triad ].
Also if the sequence is played backwards and then
forward [ for the three minor third intervals ] the pairs are part of the
ending of Moon Glow..

I think there are other uses for this little run and its modifications
and cousins..
Could others comment ?
Ain't music grand?
Thanks so much..
