Hi G:
Noted about your posting Re: stripped a brass insert.
Just at this afternoon, I have successfully helpe repaired for one of my service technicians, the same problem of his chromatic harmonica.
I mounted the comb of the harmonica in a vice positioned on the milling machine. Used a larger diameter end mill to make a deep hole down at that crew hole position. Fill the hole with plastic putty. I use the female part of the sleeve screw which is used for Huang 1248 (chromatic) cover screw and press it down into the plastic putty. and wipe off the excess plastic putty. (Make sure that it is exactly at the mouthpiece screw position.) Plastic putty dries and become rock hard quickly. It is then ready to screw the mouthpiece to the comb. I had the job done in about 20 minutes. Since I have a machine shop right at my company, the job was rather easy.
Good luck and best wishes,
Cham-Ber
