of you blues players are ever in St. Louis, this session is the one to hit.
I know of at least one list player here who has attended recently and I
suspect there are others.

To which I reply:

I attended this jam back in the end of July. I admit, after watching Jim
McLaren through the first set, I was more than a little nervous. He's got
the chops. I think I acquitted myself reasonably well for three or four
songs. Its so much easier with a great band like Soulard. Howard is right
about this jam. It is really well run with very appreciative audience. Its
incredible to me that a jam can run for 18 years. That really says
something about blues fans in St. Louis. I'm trying to finagle another
'business' trip to St. Louis.
