I've been thinking of picking up a bass harmonica, largely because my band has been playing a few Sun-era Johnny Cash tunes, and I really want to play those great thump-thump bass lines. (And I don't think I'm ready to start on standup bass.)
What's the deal on amplifying them, and/or recording them? I assume, from the kind of rigs I see people like Danny Wilson use, that a standard PA mic will not pick them up properly? What are the options?
thanks ken
