Hey Xavier,

Sorry i've been answering from-the-hip. Now i've had a chance to really go
over it, and, indeed, you are right again. The solo starts on the D harp and
switches to the ~A~, and the rest of the song is with the ~A~. Also, for
anyone following this thread- It is James Cotton, I think, and not Junior
Wells [Sorry, I forget who told me that- along with the theory that Cotton
gets the liner credits but it's actually an un-billed Lil Walter. Just to
pass that on].

I get a kick out of breaking into that solo with the ~D~ harp 4draw [instead
of trying to make the ~A~ harp, 6blow sound good!], as someone else said,
~letting a little 5/3 leak in for siren quality~. The solo, IMO, has a
little bit of that Little Walter [as in ~My Babe~] ~feel~ to it; where it
breaks away from the melody of the song- - but doesn't hotdog it. I gig with
that song tomorrow for the first time. Appreciate the help.
Robb

PS: Goin to France next month to buy [Claret] wine to put away. Any
suggestions?

<<<the D harp and then goes back on the A harp to play something like

2D 3Db 4B 4Db 4D 4Db 4D 4Db 3Db 2D
4&5D 4Db 4B 3Db 2D
4D<=>5D (shake)
4Db 3Db 2D 3Db 4B 2D 2D
2D 3D 4B(*) 4D 5D 4D 4B 3D 2D 2D 1D 2Dbb 1D
(*): with may be a little 3B just before kinda like a tongue slap,
can't
really tell what it sounds like

That's how the A harp part of the solos sounds to me (from 1'38 till
1'58)

It would be a good exercise to play the same melody in 3rd position.
You
might not get the same articulation and bends of double stops but just
the melody is good enough to practice all that stuff.
Kinda like Mark Hummel who plays Juke (or at least part of it) in 1st,
2d and 3rd position on his video to illustrate the fact that it's good
practice to take a 2d position link and transpose it to another
position.

I hope it helped.
Cheers,

Xavier
