Subject: RE: Another Question About an Amplifier (Traynor)

I had a Traynor Studiomate (model YGM4 I believe). On the face, it seemed
like
it would be a good harp amp, with two EL84 power tubes, 12AX7 preamps, 4 x
8 in
speakers in a closed back cab, and reverb. It stunk- thin shrill tone,
feedback
prone, even with preamp subs. It was very well built and with eyelet board
construction (like Fenders) that would be relatively easy to modify if you
knew
what your were doing. I sold mine rather than try to improve it.
