Blues harmonica legend Paul Butterfield was born on this day in 1942. Paul Butterfield revolutionized Chicago Blues by putting together the first integrated Chicago Blues band and showing us that a white guy could play with authority. Through the years his style expanded through his explorations of different styles of music. He was an inspiration to many of us.
Nine-string guitar player Big Joe Williams died on this day in 1982. Williams could also play some harmonica.
Happy Birthdays are in order for Bobbie Giordano, David Fairweather and Lenny Henderson, all members of various harmonica groups. I've had the oppurtunity to get to know them through the years from their correspondence and they are all nice folks.
That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
