Bluesman JD Short was born on this day in 1902. Working primarily out of
St. Louis, he made his first recordings for the paramount label in the late
1920's. After World War II he worked primarily as a one-man band, playing
the harmonica on a neckbrace.

Roots rocker Jay Farrar was born on this day in 1967. Farrar plays guitar,
mandolin and harmonica and helped to found the groups Uncle Tupelo and Son
Volt.

Country Multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Arnold died on this day in 1992. Jimmy
played several instruments, including the harmonica and was considered by
many to be a prodigy. He made his first recordings at the age of 13, but
was dead at the age of 40 as a result of his own excesses in drugs and
alcohol.

That's all I have for today. Have fun and practice.
