Subject: DC coupled phase inverter?

Anyone ever encounter a DC coupled phase inverter in an old guitar amp?
This is the one with direct coupling of preamp plate to PI triode grid with
equal size cathode and plate resistors and coupling caps from the cathode
and plate to the power tubes. Is this design a fatal flaw/good thing/or...?
I have not been able to find an amp schematic with this type of PI.
