Wolf grew up in rural Mississippi and made a huge impact when he moved up to Memphis and then to Chicago, where he became one of the city's biggest and most influential Blues artists. Blues guitar and harmonica player "Schoolboy" Cleve White was born on this day in 1928. White began playing the harmonica at the age of six and was playing professionally by his mid-teens. He began making records in 1954 and worked steadily until retiring from music in the 1980's.

Country music harmonica pioneer Herman Crook died on this day in 1988. Crook was one of the founding members of the Crook Brothers Band, who were regulars at the Grand Old Opry from 1926 until Herman's death.
