Blues singer and multi-instrumentalist Dewey Corley was born on this day in 1898. Corley began playing the harmonica as a child growing up in Arkansas. He drifted in and out of music from the 1920's until his death in the 1970's and even made some records with the Memphis Jug Band. Blues violin, guitar and harmonica player Don "Sugarcane" Harris was born on this day in 1938. An immensely talented musician, Harris often cited Jimmy Reed and Little Walter as his main influences, even on the violin. Harris worked with musicians as diverse as Frank Zappa, John Mayall and Little Richard as well as making several records of his own.
